The weather around here the past few weeks has been AMAZING! 70 degrees in the end of January? I'll take it! I walked by the boys room and saw Kien watching the ipad for the umpteenth time... (Normaly I have my husband take it to work with him so I don't have to battle with the kids about how much they watch it. But we forgot that day.) I got frustrated and tried to get everyone to go outside and play... I actually had to talk them into going outside. Yikes. When I was little we played outside until it got dark out and that's when we knew when to come home. Unfortunately times have changed I guess.
I finally got them to go outside and I am so glad I did! I had a lot of stuff to do inside, but I knew this weather wouldn't last for long so I set it aside for a few hours. It felt so nice to have the sunshine hitting on our faces! I was actually almost too warm with my long sleeved black shirt on. Crazy, right?
The kids dug out some of the toys I had been sorting through in the garage to sell or get rid of... Kien found a toy guitar and Ethan found Kien's old bike. Soon, I saw their imaginations start to go wild and they were playing together and getting along and getting some much needed vitamin D all at the same time!
Ethan has been acting so grown up and responsible lately, hardly pouting about things when he doesn't get his way. Helping around the house whenever we ask without grumbling about it. Helping his siblings when they need it. I LOVE it! And I have been able to see the floor in his room for over a whole week now! AMAZING. I think it's partly because I moved all of the girls stuff upstairs, but still.
Nora wanted to ride the bike and was sad that she was too little. I looked over and saw this smile from her when Ethan helped her "ride" it around the yard.
He also talked me into letting her run around on the trampoline... we usually try not to let her go on it because she is so small. It is always a struggle letting the big kids do age appropriate things like board games or jumping on the trampoline or riding their bikes around the block while the other ones don't get to or mess with their fun.
I had Ethan show me some of his cool moves.
Sometimes they are content not jumping but just bringing out a few toys and playing on the trampoline that way.
I haven't done much blogging since Christmas because we've had sickies around the house. Mainly just me and Kaia. Kaia was sick with 103 degree fever for almost 5 days and then a week later, was sick again! Poor girl. Then I was sick a few days last week with a cold and fever.
I told everyone I would post pictures of Kaia doing cartwheels again, because that is how we can truly tell when she was feeling better... Cartwheels and singing at the top of her lungs... that's our girl!
It was nice to get outside and enjoy the sunshine... even if it was only for one day. Today it is chilly and rainy outside... but spring is coming! Someday... and I can't wait!
